Research for human health is the focus of the Fraunhofer ITEM. We assess the risks of potentially harmful substances, investigate mechanisms of action and support our clients in the development of new medications. The most important target organs of our research are the lungs and airways.

    The Fraunhofer ITEM will participate as an exhibitor in this year's Annual Meeting of the Society of Toxicology (SOT). We will be happy to meet you at our booth 516 in Salt Lake City from March 7 to 11.

    • A meadow in the lab: selected landmark on December 19th, 2009

      The Environmental Challenge Chamber – a meadow in the lab – at the Fraunhofer ITEM has been selected as a "Landmark in the Land of Ideas". It thus forms part of the series of events "365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas" organized by the regional initiative "Germany – Land of Ideas" in collaboration with the Deutsche Bank.
