Bodies and networks

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is one of the world’s major international research organizations. An undertaking of this size and significance needs a decentralized organizational structure which nevertheless incorporates line functions that allow it to develop an efficient strategic orientation on the basis of centralized control mechanisms.

Cooperation partners and networks

Fraunhofer ITEM closely collaborates with public and industry partners. Our active participation in cooperative activities and networks puts us in a position to solve cross-disciplinary problems even beyond the scope of our institute.

Within the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, we make use of the expertise and experience of partner institutes, in particular within the Fraunhofer Group for Life Sciences. Seven out of 67 Fraunhofer Institutes are involved in this Group, including Fraunhofer ITEM. Drawing on this pooled knowledge, the Group develops custom-made solutions and services for clients from industry, SMBs, and academia.
