DGPT 2017
Poster prize awarded to Fraunhofer ITEM scientist
During this year’s Annual Congress of the German Respiratory Society (DGP), Professor Antje Prasse was awarded a prize for her poster titled “Molekulare Bildgebung mittels CXCR4-Gallium-68-Pentixafor PET erweist sich als ein geeigneter Biomarker im Therapiemonitoring der Idiomatischen Lungenfibrose (ILF)”. Professor Prasse is the head of the Fraunhofer Attract Research Group “Clinical and Translational Fibrosis Research”. In a nationwide unique manner, the network of Fraunhofer ITEM and the Hannover Medical School established within the German Center for Lung Research (DZL) at its Hannover site (BREATH) gives the research group access to both fresh lung tissues obtained from human lung explants and to tissues stored in the BREATH biobank. The methods developed by Professor Prasse and her research group can be used in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis both in clinical care and in clinical research to monitor the response to therapy.
