Poster prizes for two Fraunhofer ITEM scientists

The DZL Annual Meeting was held in Travemünde (Germany) from January 23 to 24, 2020. Fraunhofer ITEM scientists Valerie Beneke and Charline Sommer were awarded prizes for the posters they presented.

At the recent Annual Meeting of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL), Fraunhofer ITEM scientists Valerie Beneke and Charline Sommer were awarded prizes for the posters they presented. In the disease area "Asthma and Allergy", Valerie Beneke convinced the jury with her poster "Antibody-based modulation of the intestinal microbiome mediates immunological tolerance" and Charline Sommer won with her poster "Neutrophil granulocyte effector responses to Pseudomonas aeruginosa lung infection exhibit age-related changes" in the disease area "Pneumonia and Acute Lung Injury".

The DZL Annual Meeting was held in Travemünde (Germany) from January 23 to 24, 2020. As a partner in the DZL BREATH network, Fraunhofer ITEM always actively contributes to the scientific program of the DZL Annual Meetings.

The BREATH (Biomedical Research in End-stage and Obstructive Lung Disease Hannover) research network unites in a unique way internationally recognized expertise in translational pulmonary medicine. It comprises the four strong partners Hannover Medical School, Leibniz Universität Hannover, Fraunhofer ITEM, and CAPNETZ STIFTUNG. BREATH is one of the five sites of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL).
