The session will present Fraunhofer ITEM’s concept-driven testing strategies for regulatory inhalation toxicology, developed over many years of research. It will highlight validated in-vivo study designs and exposure concepts tailored to complex aerosols such as bitumen fumes, synthetic fibers, and biopersistent particles.
Participants will gain insights into how Fraunhofer ITEM integrates aerosol generation, analytical characterization, and study design into robust, reproducible approaches that meet evolving regulatory requirements and support concept-based risk assessment.
