Translational Human Tissue Models
From Biofabrication to Organ-Specific Applications
The advancement of alternatives to animal testing is fundamentally transforming drug development and toxicological assessment by enabling precise and reproducible evaluation. This paradigm shift is driven by the integration of diverse scientific disciplines, including molecular biology, clinical research, biomedical engineering, and materials science, which collectively contribute to the development of relevant in vitro and ex vivo models.
We invite you to join us for the 4th edition of our workshop series "Alternatives to Animal Testing" with a focus on translational human tissue models this year bridging in vitro discoveries with preclinical and clinical implementation. We will explore and discuss cutting-edge model systems, the development of enabling technologies, and the implementation of alternative testing strategies. The program will feature sessions on bioengineering and enabling technologies, intestinal models, and skin/environmental interactions – each highlighting organ-specific translational applications.
The event addresses scientists from academia, industry, and regulatory bodies working at the interface of model development, validation, and application.
Abstract submission: Present your work in our poster session and submit your abstract by November 6, 2025. Details can be found here.
Nice to know: The workshop will be held one day before the 6th Day of Immune Research 2025 of the Fraunhofer CIMD and we invite you to take advantage to participate in both events.
We look forward to seeing you in Frankfurt!
