Alternatives to Animal Testing

On June 21, alternative methods to animal testing will be in the focus of our one-day workshop with expert talks, good opportunities for scientific exchange and discussions as well as a poster session.

Workshop sessions:

Session 1: Advanced in vitro and ex vivo systems in (auto)immune diseases
Session 2: Opportunities and challenges for integrating new methodologies in the toxicological evaluation and biomarker research (including industry perspectives)
Session 3: Alternatives to animal testing in infection research

Poster session and exhibition

Direct contact

During the poster session poster authors and interested attendees can dicsuss and exchange the posters in personal conversations.

The poster exhibition will be open throughout the whole duration of the workshop.

Requirements for posters

Maximum size: 1.15 meters (width) by 1.45 meters (height)
Format: portrait (landscape is only possible if the poster width does not exceed 1.15 meters)
Language: English

Additional information

Posters must be mounted before the start of the workshop and be collected at the end of this event. The organizers reserve the right to remove and destroy posters that are not collected in time.

Competence platform of the Fraunhofer CIMD "Alternative methods to animal testing"

With its expertise in the fields of alternative methods to animal testing, Fraunhofer ITEM has assumed a leading role in the platform "Alternative methods to animal testing" of the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Immune-Mediated Diseases CIMD. This platform addresses the application-oriented implementation of new technologies to reduce animal testing in drug research.
